Sandra was my dear dear friend. We went all through school together. I use to go to her house in grade school and she and I would put on a record and dance our hearts out. I remember so vividly her mom saying, GIrls you have got to turn that music down. But of course we just kept dancing and turning the music up. What wonderful memories I have of  our time together. She was a true friend.

About   six months before she died, Sandra invited me to go with her and her sister (LInda) and another friend  on a trip just the four of us to North Carolina to stay at a golf  resort. We spent two of the most wonderful days there. We all had a blast. We rode golf carts, went to a comedy club ,out to dinner, just had a blast.I am so thankful we got to spend that time together.

About 2 weeks before she died, Sandra and her husband (Wayne) came to Christiansburg and we all went out to have dinner. Her sister ( Linda) and her brother (William) came and my brother (Mike and his wife) and the four of us.We had the most wonderful time together. My husband and I left on Feb 8th of that year to go to Hawaii for 3 weeks. On Feb 11th my brother (Mike) called me and said he had something to tell me, but he didnt want to. I kept saying what is wrong, he infomed me that Sandra had been killed in a car accident. Needless to say it about killed me.

I didnt get to come home for her funeral. Sandra had told me when we had dinner the last time that she wanted me to stand on the beach in Hawaii and think of her. I know she did not think I would be standing on the beach in Hawaii and thinking of her the way I was. When I came back home and went back to work, I signed on to my computer and the first email I saw was dated 2/10 (the day before she died) she had sent me and email to wish me happy Birthday and had told me to be sure to think of her as I was standing on the beach.

I will always think of her, she was truly a wonderful friend.

Donna, how sad it is to lose a close friend.  Sandra was a lovely sweet lady.  It must give you some consolation knowing you got to spend time with her so close to her passing and that she was thinking of you right before she died.  We all appreciate these special moments with friends even more now that we have grown older.  My thoughts are with you and Sandra's family.  Rest in Peace, lovely Sandra.
